Messiahs

I rarely get political here for several reasons, but I find the recent liberal mantra of “Jesus was a community organizer; Pontius Pilate was a governor” irritating, infuriating, and hilarious. I find it irritating and infuriating because the same people that mock Christianity are trying to use Biblical figures to make their point. It also goes to show that they do see Obama as their messiah. But alas:

  • Obama never cured a blind man.
  • Obama never made the lame walk (Biden tried. Now that’s comedy).
  • Obama never turned water into wine.
  • Obama didn’t feed 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.
  • Obama never walked on water.
  • Obama didn’t die and rise again three days later.

I find it hilarious because these people that tried to make a point failed miserably, and it shows their ignorance (or maybe it’s just plain stupidity) of Christianity. It doesn’t really matter who was involved, Jesus was sent to us to die. It was his purpose. He is the one and only key to our salvation, and without his death and resurrection, he’s just some other guy.

By the way, Pilate actually found no guilt in Jesus. In fact, he tried to release him. Matthew 27:11-26, Mark 15:1-15, Luke 23:1-7 & 13-25, John 18:28-19:16.

But if the left want to play, we can play. By their insinuation, Pilate is the only person responsible, or at least primarily responsible, for Jesus’ crucifixion and death. Cool. Palin crucified Obama in her speech at the convention. Except this “messiah” isn’t going to rise again.

Pssst… Hitler was a community organizer, too.
