I'm Not Always Right, But...

I generally leave my private life out of my blog. I rarely ever blog about my political views, my job, or what I do in a day. I'm frustrated, however, and I can somewhat vent through the writing process.

For those that don't know, I work in IT. My hands don't get as dirty as I'd like them to, as far as what I'm allowed to do, but it's a pretty decent job. I have bosses that back me up, listen to my suggestions, and at least consider something new.

I'm a rational, logic-minded person. So before I get working on a project, I like to plan it out. I generally find this trait saves me from unnecessary work. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind work, but I hate spending more time than necessary on a project. I also consider myself knowledgeable in this field. I'm not expert-level (well, I am in some aspects), but when I make a suggestion to someone, it's usually correct. I'm not conceited… it's just fact. When I offer suggestion to a problem, I'm proven correct 98% of the time.

It irks the hell out of me when I'm not listened to, especially by the people I call co-workers: the people that I have proved myself to time and time again; the people that turn to me when they can't figure something out. So why is it that I'm now ignored when I throw my two cents into the foray? I realize "less talk, more action" gets things done, but why can't we stop and think for two minutes on what I have to say? Aren't I usually right? Is that the problem? Do you want to be right for a change? THEN FRICKIN' LISTEN TO ME! I've said it several times here: I'm lazy. Therefore, I'm going to find the best way to do something, and I'm going to make sure it works flawlessly, or else my perfectionist side won't be happy with it, either.

My wife sometimes tells me I have to be right all the time. I'll give her that. However, 2 hours vs. 3 hours and counting (with the exact same results). Hmm. I'll take the former.
