The day is soon coming when my NV20-based card (GeForce 3) will be placed aside in favor of a more powerful card (Hello, R420!). My GF3 has been a welcome companion over the past few years. It enabled me to view Tribes 2 in much more splender than the GF256 I had at the time. When I bought the nVidia 5700 Ultra in November, which has been a decent upgrade, the GF3 card got placed into my lesser computer. When I get the ATi card, the 5700 will be going into the lesser computer, and the GF3 will be homeless. /sigh Such is the life of technology.

With ATi's announcement earlier in the month of R420, and coupled with the impressive benchmarks floating around the Internet, I cannot help but to drool over the performance I will get from either the X800 or the X800 PE.

I can't wait!

Update: I also wouldn't mind a nVidia GeForce 6800 GT. The only problem is availability, as this card performs as well as the X800 Pro.
